Aos Dara / Umha Aois combined symposium 2020

For the Aos Dara / Umha Aois combined symposium 2020 I investigated making ink from oak galls and oak sawdust. At the same time I also created a wood block print using oak wood harvested during the previous year's symposium. The ink making experiment involved searching for and collecting oak galls, and then carrying out and documenting the experiments in my own studio.

I filmed the entire process at at the end created a short video to be exhibited in the Courthouse Arts Centre in Tinahely, alongside the woodblock print of an image of oak galls. The video can be viewed below or by following this link.
