Works on Paper
Temple Bar Gallery & Studios, Dublin; Nun's Island Art Centre, Galway
April 10-23; May 12-30 1989
The drawings were done both as an exploration of media and as an exploration
of emotion. Most of the drawings were done by what I feel is a very sculptural
way of drawing - I completely covered the area of the paper in a layer
of graphite and then used a plastic eraser to remove the graphite in order
to release the image. The figure is at once both personal and symbolic.
This was my first solo exhibition.
